「Anthony Cleverley(アンソニー・クレバリー)」はイギリスの名門靴ブランド「GEORGE CLEVERLEY(ジョージ・クレバリー)」の創業者、ジョージ・クレバリー氏の甥として生まれました。アンソニーはジョージの下で靴作りを習得、その後、双方の靴作りに対する意見の相違から決別しますが、アンソニーは独自で美しさを追及したビスポーク靴を作る職人として名立たる著名人の靴を次々と生みだしていきます。1993年ジョージ・クレバリー氏が他界、翌94年にはアンソニー氏も他界します。数年後、現ジョージ・クレバリーのオーナーであるグラスゴー氏がアンソニーの姪が所持していた遺品の中からアンソニーが生み出したビスポーク靴の顧客台帳、作品集、木型などを発見しました。その美しすぎる靴に感銘を受けたグラスゴー氏がそれを復元、瞬く間に世界中の靴愛好家を虜にしました。こうしてアンソニー・クレバリー氏の靴は現代に蘇りました。
