1885年、イタリア・ローマで誕生した「MEROLA（メローラ）」。イタリアを代表する高級グローブメーカーで、イギリスのDENTSなどと並び高い人気を集めています。メローラのグローブの素晴らしさは当時からイタリア全土に知られていましたが、1915年にサンフランシスコで開催された万国博覧会の舞台でゴールドメダルを授与されたことから、世界的な名声を獲得することになります。その後、ローマの休日、ヴィスコンティ、タイタニック、ギャング・オブ・ニューヨークなど、多くの映画に使用され、俳優たちの手元を彩ってきました。顧客には、マーガレット女王をはじめ、世界中の王族や貴族、ハリウッドスターが名を連ねます。メローラはネクタイでも有名で、伝統を継承した職人が全工程を手作業で仕上げています。わざわざイギリスから取り寄せた50オンスシルクツイルを用いて作られるハンドメイドネクタイは、しっかりとした厚みと量感がありながら、しなやかで締めやすく、一日中していても緩みません。クラシコイタリアを日本に広めた故落合正勝氏をもってして、最高のネクタイと言わしめたほどです。
