2004年に橋本淳が「wjk(ダブルジェイケイ)」をスタート。橋本はセレクトショップのバイヤーを経て、カルペ ディエム(C DIEM)のデザイナー「マウリッツォ アルティエリ」に共感し、単身でイタリアに渡りマウリッツォと共に活動する。 そこで得た経験を活かす為、帰国し「wjk」を立ち上げる。ブランド名の「wjk」はには意味がなく、好きなアルファベットを適当に並べたものである。それは、ブランド名からイメージを決められたくないと考えたため。あくまでも、「wjk」が創った「もの」をきちんと見てほしいという気持ちから。「良い物は変わらない」という事実と、「残る物は本物」という2つの事実を通し「不変」という物を表現する。
