JMウエストンが創業したのは現在からももう100年以上も前の1891年になります。創業当初にはJMウエストンの名はなく「ブランシャール」として創業した。JMウエストンの名がついたのはその後1927年のパリに直営店を構えたときになります。創業当初よりこだわったのは靴に使用される革の素材・作り・履き心地。現在も代名詞となっているのが「JMウエストンの靴は10年履ける」というもの。履き心地を実現する為にJMウエストンでは4ミリ毎にサイズを用意し、またワイズも常時6-7揃えると言うこだわり。その後さらに大きな転機を迎えたのはフランスでも有名で著名なレディースシューデザイナーであるミッシェル・ペリーを迎えたことにある。それまでに培った伝統の靴作りの製法を大事にしながらも「綿密・巧妙・スタイリッシュ」というキーワードがまさに当てはまるニューシリーズコレクションを発表した。JMウエストンではベルトや・革製品などのラインナップもありこの名門靴ブランドは現在も大変人気が高く、世界中に愛用者がいる靴ブランドのひとつです。
