1994年にスイス出身のコンスエロ・カスティリオーニが設立したイタリアのファッションブランド。構築的なシルエットや可愛らしいプリント使いなど、あたたかみのある雰囲気が特徴。2000年、東京に世界最大の旗艦店をオープン。建築家ユニット「フューチャー・システムズ」が手がけた曲線で構成された空間は大きな注目を集めた。 2002年にはメンズコレクションを発表。 2011年に初のキッズコレクションを立ち上げる。 2012年、H&Mとのコラボレーション「MARNI at H&M」を発表。 2013年、初フレグランス「MARNI ROSE」を発売。同年、ポーターとのコラボレーションでバッグやウォレットなどを発表した。 2015年にもマルニ×ポーターから新作が登場。コレクションで使用されたチェック柄にレザーロゴプレートをあしらったラグジュアリーなアイテムとなった。 2016年10月21日、コンスエロ・カスティリオーニが辞任し、後任としてフランチェスコ・リッソがクリエイティブ・ディレクターに就任。
