ステファノブランキーニやエンツォボナフェを靴作りの修行を行っていた事でも知られる「ア・テストーニ」ブランド名は昔から靴職人をしていた家系に生まれたアメディオ・テストーニの名を冠にしたもので、イタリアのボローニャで1929年に創業されました。ア・テストーニの特徴と言えば、全177工程にも登るといわれるボロネーゼ製法を上げる事が出来、逆に言うとボロネーゼ製法の代名詞ともいえる存在。177工程のその大部分は大変複雑で、裏張りとアーチを縫い合わせる特殊な技術を用いるのがボロネーゼ製法の特徴です。ア・テストーニは現在においても生粋の靴職人によるハンドメイドで、一足ずつ丁寧に作り上げられており、イタリア靴を象徴するブランドと賞されています。
