In 2010, Ryo Kashiwazaki founded Hender Scheme. In addition to shoes made of premium leather, they also offer leather accessories such as bags and business card holders. The popular "Homage Line" is a shoe line made of tanned leather that pays homage to popular sneakers. This homage line started as an experimental attempt to "play with existing images in your head". Sneakers that have been manufactured as industrial products are made by people in local factories in Asakusa, which are called cottage industries. Even if the design is exactly the same, different ones are born. Furthermore, because they use tanned leather, the shoes gradually change shape and color, becoming unique. The characteristic of Hender Scheme shoes is the background and process of how things are made, and they design the process and way of thinking rather than the superficial design. The brand name is a coined word from the psychological term "Gender Schema", and by changing the first letter of Gender, "G", to "H", which is one letter higher in the alphabet, it expresses the brand concept of "transcending gender". On the other hand, they respect physiological sex differences such as the difference in bone structure and muscle structure between men and women, and they make slight differences between men's and women's shoes in terms of wooden lasts, depth of cut, etc. They also feature a well-balanced design that emphasizes the balance between fashion and craft.
