In 1939, Charles Barthes started the ORCIVAL marine T-shirt brand in Lyon, France, using the name of a small village in central France. In the 1950s and 1960s, this marine T-shirt became famous as a prestigious brand, as it was adopted as a uniform by the French Navy. The prototype of ORCIVAL's marine T-shirt was originally made from a fabric called raschel knit. This fabric has a complex structure that uses a lot of thread compared to general cut-and-sew fabrics. Currently, there are only a few machines in France that can knit this fabric, and it takes a long time to knit, so it is not mass-produced. That is why ORCIVAL's marine T-shirts are valuable as something unique. The original was a royal blue stripe on a white background. Currently, you can enjoy a variety of colors and materials.
