This regular collar dress shirt is made of a slightly smooth twill cotton fabric with a moderate amount of firmness. The armholes and other parts are hand-sewn, giving it a craftsman-made feel. The slim silhouette with darts on the back makes it stylish to wear.

■ BRAND

Mario Muscariello was founded by Giuseppe Muscariello in San Giorgio a Cremano, a town near Naples that is known as the holy land of Naples tailors. The current workshop was established in 1964, but the family's lineage dates back to the first generation, a shirtmaker active in the 1870s. The workshop originally produced shirts and nightwear, but in 1973 it began producing handmade Su Missoura shirts. Mario, the son of Giuseppe, has added modern deformations to the traditional handmade shirt making techniques he learned from his father, Giuseppe, giving Mario Muscariello a new style based on classics. The shirt line includes dress shirts (9 processes), washed shirts (5 processes), fake polos (5 processes), and Capri shirts (4 processes). All nine steps of dress shirt production - armholes, cuffs, collar, placket, camiceria buttonhole, buttoning, yoke, bar closure, and gusset - are sewn by hand. The buttons are made of genuine mother-of-pearl from Australia and are fastened with the traditional Neapolitan stitching technique called Zampa di Gallina (chicken's foot). In 2009, the company opened a new tailoring workshop and invited a Neapolitan tailor to start a jacket line, which offers shirt jackets and jackets. Both are characterized by the magical, exquisite fitting that they are most particular about, and the suppleness created by traditional Neapolitan handwork.
