DUVETICA is an Italian downwear brand. Giampiero Vagliano, founder and president of DUVETICA, was originally president of Moncler, famous for its down jackets, before going independent in 2002. The company was founded in Moriano Veneto, near Venice, Italy. The brand name is a combination of "DUVET," which means down in French, and "ETICA," which means ethics or morality in Italian. The most important down material for down jackets is 100% French. DUVETICA uses only the finest parts of the down from "grey geese" that are raised for the highest quality foie gras in the southern region of France, mainly in the Périgord region. For sewing, the company selects factories that guarantee the highest level of technology for down jackets in Europe. Soon after the brand was founded, it became popular for its high quality and design, and has become a popular downwear brand in Japan as well.
