「LAVENHAM（ラベンハム）」は1969年、ロンドン北東部サフォーク州の小さな美しい村ラベンハムで設立され、社名はその村の名に因んでつけられました。ラベンハム創設者Mrs.Elliotは当時、エリザベス女王に仕える女官でしたが、ある時キルティング加工をした生地を使い女王の乗られる馬用の毛布を作る事を思い付きました。Mrs.Elliotが発案したナイロン・キルティングのホース・ブランケットは1969年に発売され、瞬く間にラベンハムのホース・ブランケットが英国中に広まり、乗馬用具業界での地位を確立しました。ナイロン・キルティングのホース・ブランケットは余りに軽く、丈夫で保温性が高くまた単価も適正であった為、乗馬愛好家自身が着用するジャケットの要望が高まりました。多くの乗馬愛好家の要望でナイロン・キルティング・ジャケットが発表され、愛馬とお揃いのジャケットを着たジョッパーが増えて行きました。その後は乗馬愛好家自身のライディング・ウェアを毎年発表し続けています。1978年にはラベンハムの名を決定的に印象付けた製品、ダイヤモンド・キルティング・ジャケットが発表されました。このラベンハム・キルティング・ジャケットはベーシックで実用的な乗馬用トレーニング・ウェアの中に高いファッション性と高品質という概念を取り入れ高く評価され、当初はナイロンが主な素材であったがその後、ウール、カシミヤ、シルク、コットン等々幅広い素材が用いられるようになりました。1997年には、A.P.C.やグッチなど著名ブランドのキルティングも手掛けラベンハムは英国産業界で最高の名誉とされる「THE QUEENS AWARDS」 の輸出産業部門で受賞し、ました。ラベンハムは現在世界中で高いデザイン性と安定した品質で高い評価を得て 、耐久性に優れた素材を厳選して使用し、一着ずつ丁寧に作る製品は実用的で耐久性に優れています。現在では、新素材やスタイルを増やし、ファッション・ブランドとして英国を代表する地位を確立しています。
