A Testoni, known for having trained Stefano Branchini and Enzo Bonafe in shoemaking, was founded in 1929 in Bologna, Italy. The brand name is named after Amedeo Testoni, who was born into a family of shoemakers. A Testoni is known for its Bolognese method, which is said to involve a total of 177 steps, and is therefore synonymous with the Bolognese method. Most of the 177 steps are very complicated, and the Bolognese method is characterized by the use of special techniques to sew the lining and arch together.
