    Arc'teryx was founded in 1989 in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada by climbers Dave Lane and Jeremy Guard. The company name Arc'teryx comes from the scientific name of Archaeopteryx, and the brand logo was designed based on the best-preserved specimen of Archaeopteryx excavated in Berlin.
