    A core brand of Paraboot Richard-Pontvert SA. In 1919, shoemaker Rémy Richard-Pontvert returned to France with a pair of rubber-covered boots he had acquired while in the United States. Inspired by these boots, he began making shoes with soles made from natural latex imported from the port of Para in Brazil. He named the brand "Paraboot" after the port of export.
