Nomat, founded by creative director Nomura Hitomi, is a fashion brand based in Tokyo and Paris. The brand name is a coined word meaning "something that exists in this world, even though it cannot be seen. An imaginary place not on a map." The brand offers poetic clothing that is in tune with each individual's actions without restricting individuality. Designs and pattern production are done at design ateliers in Paris and Tokyo, while cutting, sewing and dyeing are all carried out at the brand's own factory in Japan. Nomat is very particular about materials, and produces its products from yarn in Mongolia. They are also putting effort into more adventurous textile creation, broadening the scope of expression while incorporating it into fashion.
