■ BRAND

NUMBER (N)INE is a fashion brand launched in 1996 by Japanese fashion designer Miyashita Takahiro. Founding designer Miyashita Takahiro was born in Tokyo in 1973. He taught himself how to make clothes. In 1996, he left Nepenthes (which runs Engineered Garments, among others) where he had worked as a planner and buyer. Music and fashion are closely intertwined in NUMBER (N)INE's designs. Designer Miyashita is often seen drawing inspiration from rock and punk and incorporating them into his designs.
