■ BRAND

Della Valle of Italy started manufacturing shoes in the 1920s. The company, which was run by Della Valle, was called EMA, but changed its name to Tod's. In 1979, they released a single piece of leather moccasin with 133 rubber studs on the sole. This was very light and fitted, and it gained support mainly in Europe, and this was the start of the brand "Tod's". The characteristic of Tod's shoes is that they are produced through many processes. Some shoes go through as many as 120 processes. They check the quality, have people try on samples, and repeatedly check whether they are comfortable to wear. One of the factors behind the success of the Tod's group is that they have built a more efficient production line while maintaining the handmade artisanal method.
