1948年にジュゼッペ・マレンツィがLesaにてHERNO社を創立しました。マジョーレ湖岸にあるこの小さな町の近くを流れるErno川にインスピレーションを受け、頭に”Ｈ”を付け加えたものが会社の名前となりました。その川は古くから製造所や工場に水を供給していました。現社長は、息子であるクラウディオ・マレンツィ氏。クラシコ協会会長でもあります。
