Daido Limited is a long-established textile manufacturer founded in 1879, and in 1979, it established Brooks Brothers Japan as a joint venture with Brooks Brothers of the United States. Daido Limited is particular about wool production, managing a large ranch in New South Wales, Australia, known for its high-quality wool production. They select ultra-fine wool of 16.5 to 18.0 microns from excellent breeding rams and produce fabrics using the know-how they have accumulated as a woolen fabric manufacturer. The tartan check patterns used on wallets and other items are registered with the Scottish Tartan Registry, a government agency that certifies tartan patterns around the world in Scotland, the birthplace of tartan.
